Designing a Digital Clinic for Behavioral Health: Equity, Access, Workflow, and Technology Considerations
WEBINAR - Part 1
While technology has the potential to increase access to care for behavioral health services, actual clinical implementation efforts remain scarce. Many digital solutions are innovative but not designed to work in demanding clinic environments and serve the dual needs of patients and staff. This talk with focus on the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Digital Clinic and explore how the clinic was designed to promote equity, access, and workflow considerations.
Towards equity, digital literacy and outreach programs will be discussed with the goal of showing how it is necessary to build such efforts into new efforts as a first step. The mindLAMP app designed by the division will also be discussed towards demonstrating flexible uses of mobile technology as well as how digital phenotyping can improve care outcomes. Finally, the role of the digital navigator will be introduced as a solution to workflow considerations and towards facilitating implementation. Training and other resources to create similar programs will be shared.
