Care and Feeding of an ACO with Practical Health Information Exchange

  June 28, 2017 9:00 - 11:00 AM

(original date was May 25th)

Presented by Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative

Accountable care activity is growing rapidly. So too is health information exchange.  Unfortunately, ACO and interoperability strategy and implementation are too often taking place in isolation from each other. This represents a huge missed opportunity because an ACO will starve without effective clinical interoperability, and clinical interoperability may be wasted effort if it isn’t designed to drive ACO value drivers.

In this session Micky Tripathi will discuss key trends in ACOs and interoperability across the country and in Massachusetts and describe specific projects that are being undertaken by the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative in this area.

The session will focus on:

  • Trends in ACO and clinical interoperability
  • ACO requirements for health information exchange
  • Health information exchange transactions to support ACO enablement
  • Specific examples from across the nation and Massachusetts
