Vision
The purpose of the Electronic Patient Centered Communications
Project is to educate both health care providers and consumers
about the appropriate and safe use of electronic communication
in clinical care.

Daniel Z. Sands, MD, MPH; Center for Clinical Computing, Beth
Israel Deaconess Medical Center, is sponsoring this Project.
Project Description
Project objectives include:
- Conduct several forums throughout Massachusetts to educate
providers, managers, attorneys, risk managers and patients about
safe and effective use of electronic communications
- Introduce stakeholders to various vendor solutions
- Create web site to further educate these publics
- Track changes in electronic patient/physician communications
over time
The Electronic Patient Centered Communications Project is aligned
with MA-SHARE goals: there is potential for improvements in patient
care, and it has a state-wide focus.
