Regional Initiatives

  • CHC (Community Health Centers) HIPAA Collaborative
    A "health center driven project" to assist participating Massachusetts community health centers with HIPAA planning and response. Initial meetings were organized by the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and Neighborhood Health Plan. Contact the Massachusetts League for more information.
  • HealthKey Five State Project - HIPAA Gives (Government Information Value Exchange for States)
  • HIPAA EarlyViewTM Privacy Tool
    This is a software tool designed to help healthcare providers, plans and clearinghouses assess their current position in relation to the HIPAA privacy regulations and begin their compliance strategy. The tool was developed jointly by NCHICA (North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance) and the Maryland Health Care Commission. A demonstration of the software is available on the NCHICA web site
  • NCHICA has also reported that their HIPAA Privacy Work Group is "cranking out" documents (sample consent, authorization, notice, BA Contract, etc.) that can be referenced on line by the tool and imported into a document library so that a facility can build its own compliance plan.
