Description
HIPAA mandates that all providers that submit electronic transactions obtain and use a unique NPI from CMS. Providers can now apply for NPIs and all health plans must use the NPI as the sole provider identifier by May 23, 2007. The Massachusetts Health Data Consortium is sponsoring an audio conference to educate the administrative staff in Massachusetts provider organizations on what they need to know re: NPIs.
