Web 2.0: What it Means for the Web and How it Could Impact Healthcare

Friday, October 27, 2006 - 9:00-11:00am
Massachusetts Health Data Consortium, Waltham, MA

Presented by      Molecular logo

Description

The experiences being provided in the online channel are at a pivotal point – users are demanding amazing new and exciting features and technology is now here that can help deliver it. Web 2.0 will be at the forefront of this revolution. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come in a box with installation instructions and a users guide. This loosely-used term has many meanings and interpretations – you may have heard 2.0 million different descriptions – but it’s time to get to the bottom line of Web 2.0. What is this new phenomenon, and what does it mean for your site and your eBusiness?

During this session, Molecular’s user experience and technology experts will offer attendees an overview of this turning-point in the Internet space, with a detailed breakdown of each facet: user participation, openness and rich interfaces. They’ll delve into each area, sharing their in-depth knowledge and real-Web experiences, including emerging best practices, usability challenges, implications to your eBusiness, and examples of what Web 2.0 makes possible. Attendees will gain a thorough understanding of when and how it is best to incorporate the elements of Web 2.0 into your online experience, as well as suggestions and tips on what not to do. In addition, the presenters will touch on the technologies and technicalities of Web 2.0, plus reference resources.
