Description
Maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in a dynamic healthcare environment, both as a
best practice and as a compliance measure, has presented numerous challenges. The need to share information with a
diverse user and partner base, yet ensure the security of that information, represents a daunting task.
This talk will address the many challenges in securing patient health information in storage, access and transit
and present data protection as a solution this important regulatory and security issue. Topics discussed will include:
- Data protection defined
- How data protection compliments and simplifies network and systems security and regulatory compliance programs
- Implementing a data protection strategy
- Overcoming data protection roadblocks with the end user
- Technology breakthroughs for data protection
Speaker
- Gretchen Hellman - Director of Product Marketing, Voltage Security
Gretchen Hellman joined Voltage Security as the Director of Product Marketing with broad experience in helping
companies of all industries meet their security management and regulatory compliance objectives. After gaining direct
experience as a consultant specializing in security management and regulatory compliance, Gretchen has worked with
technology vendors and their customers to deliver practical solutions to the complex security and compliance problems
facing the enterprise. Her past positions include product marketing and compliance solutions development for ArcSight,
as well as numerous positions at Network Associates/McAfee including Healthcare Program Manager for security products
and Product Line Manager in charge of consulting services development and marketing. Gretchen is a frequent speaker in
the areas of security standards and control frameworks, regulatory compliance strategies, security policy, and security
technologies. She holds a B.S.E.E. from Santa Clara University.
