Financial planning encompasses many aspects among them are program analysis and development, capital planning, determination of need submission and strategic planning. A focus of strategic planning includes business plans and financial analyses of new technology, service line review and Centers of Excellence development. In compiling and creating the financial review we frequently rely on the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium (MHDC) databases.

The presentation on September 25 will involve the application of the MHDC databases to a service line review, how senior management utilized the data for decision making, and how the data can be presented for actionable results. A critical element of any business analysis is whether the data provided is actionable and allows informed and timely decision making.
