Jon Chilingerian, PhD

Speaker - John Chilingerian

  • Dr. Chilingerian has a Ph.D. from the Sloan School at MIT, and is a tenured Professor at Brandeis University. He is Director of the MD-MBA Program, Co-Director of the AHCPR Training Grant in Health Services Research, and Director of Executive Education at the Heller Graduate School, Brandeis University.
  • Professor Chilingerian's current work focuses on managing health care organizations ranging from studies of leadership to the analysis of the performance (productive efficiency and quality) of health care decision-making units -- for example, physicians, hospitals, and nursing homes. He is considered an international expert in health applications of frontier analytic methods.
  • Current projects include: working on a new project to study the physician adoption of buprenorphine in office-based practice; and doing research on the Performance Management Systems of the US Air Force in conjunction with the Surgeon General. In addition to authoring many articles, a book for the Institute of Medicine and new book on International Health Care Management, Dr. Chilingerian is on the editorial board of several leading health care and management journals.
