Part I: "Turning Data into Information: Multiple Clients, Multiple Information Needs"
Workshop Description |
This workshop will highlight the key components of Medstat's multi-market business strategy. We will examine the value to employers of implementing decision support systems to manage the cost and quality of the healthcare they purchase. The value of their data is enhanced by normative comparisons to their peers. These comparisons are based on de-identified data from multiple customers. Finally, the pooled, de-identified data are used in research projects by government and private clients. Each step of the process will be covered: building and using a decision support system, pooling and de-identifying data, using the pooled information asset for normative comparisons and for research.
|
Workshop Objectives |
Effective use of administrative data to manage cost and quality of care.
Normative comparisons in a world that respects privacy concerns and is HIPAA-compliant.
Value of information in policy development.
