Services Offered
The Consortium's Resource Center, in accordance with its own mission, supports its members in their efforts to remain current and obtain resources on the trends within healthcare and information technology. Consortium members are eligible to borrow materials from the Resource Center for up to two months at a time.
On-line Library Resources:
Resource Center capabilities include:
- Literature searches
- Subject tracking
- Research reports
- Bibliographies
- Current awareness reports
- Document delivery - data, reports, articles and publications in any format
- Inter-library loan
The Resource Center & Library Mission is to support the educational and consensus-building mission of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium - its staff and its member organizations - by providing guided assistance to relevant information in the domains of health policy, healthcare information exchange, and the use of technology to improve health care. The Resource Center & Library will:
- Continually develop and update the library collections
- Reach out to members via an electronic newsletter (What's NeWWW) and via other methods to inform of new research in: best practices; quality improvement; patient safety; critical evaluation of health information; federal and state initiatives in health information technology; the formation of comparable regional collaborative organizations (e.g. RHIOs) in other parts of the country and abroad.
- Employ creative approaches in services and resources, utilizing new technologies and information formats, with a particular emphasis in enabling remote access to the Collections and our services.
