Per Diem Charge Profiles
Comparative profiles of hospital utilization and financial data by payor class, age and major service category, are available for all Massachusetts Hospitals in the Consortium's Per Diem Charge Profiles. Payor classes for Blue Cross, Commercial Insurance, HMO, Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare and Medicare Managed Care, are profiled for services including neonatal, pediatrics, medical/surgical, obstetrics/maternity and psychiatry. Data shows that psychiatry charges rank the highest for percentage of routine charges (75.1%) and average charges of $9,646, while neonatal charges rank the highest for percentage of specialty charges (37.2%) and average charges of $3,839.
