David P. Smith
David P. Smith is the Senior Director of Clinical Data Policy and Research at the Massachusetts Hospital Association, where he has worked since 1988. Prior to that, he was Director of Financial Policy Development at the Michigan Hospital Association and a planning analyst at the American Hospital Association. He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Services Corps at the National Naval Medical Center where he managed laboratory and ambulatory care services. He received a bachelor's degree from Assumption College and a master's degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan. Mr. Smith has published papers on multi-hospital system development, strategic management, hospital-based long-term care, and hospital performance reporting.
