Dolores L. Mitchell
Dolores L. Mitchell is currently serving as Executive Director of the Group Insurance Commission, the agency that provides life, health, disability and dental and vision services to 250,000 State employees, retirees and their dependents. She has been in that position since 1987, serving in the administrations of Governor Dukakis, Governor Weld and Governor Cellucci.
During the first Dukakis administration she served as Cabinet Coordinator, and for several months, as Secretary of Human Services.
She served as Boston's Executive Director of the well known business school, the Katharine Gibbs School and has also worked as a consultant and legislative liaison for a number of organizations.
Ms. Mitchell is a member of a number of professional and community organizations, including the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium, of which she is Vice President, the Massachusetts Healthcare Purchaser Group, of which she is currently the President, the Board of the National Women's Political Caucus, the Greater Boston Big Sister Association, and her local Democratic Town Committee.
Ms. Mitchell is a frequent speaker on topics relating to health care, government, and women's career issues.
