Using Business Intelligence to Bridge Critical Information Gaps in Healthcare

    DimensionalInsight_200.jpg

As the evolution and adoption of healthcare IT systems continues to accelerate, fueled by the incentives of the federal HITECH act, the resulting increases in volume, scope and quality of healthcare information will present both challenges and opportunities.

The opportunities include: improving visibility into population health, better assessing the effectiveness of practices and products, and identifying optimal levels of personnel productivity.

Among the primary challenges, however, is the need to combine information from across myriad systems and among organizations to create useful perspectives into information.

Business intelligence technology has evolved to help close these information gaps.

This session will explore examples of how healthcare organizations have improved both their visibility into information as well as their organizational responsiveness though the use of business intelligence technology.

    Speaker:
    • George Dealy, Vice President Business Development
As the Vice President of Business Development at Dimensional Insight, George Dealy is responsible for cultivating new market and product opportunities for the company. Particularly, his focus is in applying Business Intelligence technology to the challenges of healthcare information management.

George has 25 years of information technology experience. His past roles included senior management positions in business development, product management, professional services, and sales at PatientKeeper, e.Piphany, and Sybase. He holds a M.S. in Computer Science from Union College and a B.S. in Applied Economics from Cornell University.
